Welcome to Fox Class!
A very warm welcome to Fox Class. Our Year 1 and 2 class is called Fox, after George Fox, who was a founder member of the Society of Friends.
George Fox was born in July 1624 in the village of Fenny Drayton, Leicestershire. From a young age, he was deeply troubled by the religious conflict surrounding him. When he reached his teens, he began to question the established church and was disillusioned by its rituals and beliefs. In searching for spiritual truth, Fox experienced a profound revelation that led him to believe in the direct experience of God. This marked the beginning of the Quaker movement. Fox travelled extensively across England, preaching his message of peace, equality, and simplicity. His words resonated with many, attracting followers known as Quakers.
