Welcome to William Penn Parent Teacher Association
As a parent at the school you are automatically a member of the PTA and we also warmly welcome grandparents, carers, former parents and friends to get involved in our events.
Our PTA is about much more than simply fundraising. The PTA exists to provide closer links between home and school and it is an excellent way to bring staff, parents and friends together socially in support of the school and enhance the school’s community.
Everyone is encouraged to get involved, even if they only have a small amount of time available. We run a range of events throughout the year such as discos, Summer Cream Tea, Christmas Bazaar and Easter Egg hunt and are always keen for volunteers.
Money raised from these events is used by the school to enrich all our childrens’ education. In addition to funding things like equipment, books, subsidising trips, most recently we have helped fund the school’s Daily Mile track.
If you have an idea for raising money, then we’d love to hear your suggestions!
AGM
We hold a yearly AGM where you can find out more about the PTA and hear how money has been spent within the school. This is also when the Committee is elected. If you are interested in being a member of the Committee then you can find out more information on the specific roles by clicking on the titles below:
Our next AGM will be held on the Thursday 19th September at 3:30PM. A film will be screened in Cadbury class for children of parents that wish to attend.
PTA committees usually meet once a term and set up smaller working groups to organise individual events.
How can I get involved?
If you feel up to volunteering for something, you can start small, help out with organising an event or put yourself forward for one of the formal PTA roles at the AGM. It is an excellent way to involve yourself in what’s happening at school and connect with other parents and school leaders.
Other ways you can help to fundraise if you don’t have time to volunteer are by using one of several cashback sites that we are registered with when you do your online shopping. Follow the simple steps below to get started:
